I found your site about a month ago and shared it with my Dad who just passed away August 20, just short of his 60th anniversary landing on Guadalcanal in 1942. He was a member of the 6th Battalion Seabees, the just Seabees to see action. He enjoyed your pictures and said your information was quite accurate. I hope you respond. He loved the Navy (we had a Navy funeral for him).

While stationed on Guadalcanal in the '80s, I earned a deep respect for the men who served on the island. I found it almost unbelievable they could endure such conditions even in the best of times, let alone during a war.

While sadden to hear the news of your father, I am pleased to hear that he enjoyed my pictures.
