"CAN DO!" We build, we fight... "With willing hearts and skillful hands, the difficult we do at once, the impossible takes a bit longer." Everyone has their own take on the Seabee motto. I have listed each and everyone I have found that is just a little bit different then another.
Some of you may know that I spent five years of my life with the Seabees. What some of you may not know is. What exactly is a Seabee? Hopefully, these pages will illustrate what a Seabee really is, and what I did as a Seabee. What I have included are items that specifically interest me. For instance, I spent three months on Guadalcanal, designed the Antarctica Winter-Over 1985 seal, and so on. The pictures from Navy Seabees on Guadalcanal are as accurate and true to life then as they are today. Especially, the picture showing the camp flooded which I have personal experience with. We camped on the runway of Kukum Field. Reported to be the air field used by Baa Baa Black Sheep Squadron. Steve Karol published a nice article called Seabees Return to Guadalcanal. I'm even mentioned in it. I don't know if I will have a section devoted to Antarctica, or just include it on this page. But, in the mean time. One gentleman currently wintering over in Antarctica maintains the McMurdo Daily Weather Photo, which is no longer active. McMurdo is where I spend three-hundred sixty five !@#$%^&* days. Saying one year makes it sound like it was too easy. LinksGeneral Links
