Closest Quake to Me

The double earthquakes, what I call the Laguna Nigel quake, on August 9, 1999 struck very close to home. Just down the freeway a little bit. The other close earthquake was the San Clemente Island quake on August 16, 2001.

I do not remember the Northridge earthquake that hit on Jan. 17, 1994 at 4:30:55 AM. Cousin Laura remembers she was visiting with Cousin Gene in La Jolla, California and felt the earthquake. La Jolla must be eighty miles or more away from the epicenter.
